Woodland Home
This illustration was commissioned privately as part of a gift for an anniversary. The piece itself includes many hidden references to the couples past, present and future plans including : their pets, a clumsy incident with orange juice, their occupations (dance choreographer and a computer scientist), some muddy festival memories, their nicknames and future dreams to live in Japan.
The structure of the home itself was inspired by some Mid-Century illustrations, particularly these Motorola advertisements painted in the 1960’s which I’m currently fascinated by.
I redrew the original three starting Pokemon to better fit with the Pikachu I doodled earlier this month.
